Cover for legal expenses

Customers can extend their home insurance policy to cover legal costs and expenses (up to £50,000) for the following events:

• disputes over selling or buying goods and/or services
• disputes over physical damage to property
• claims arising from personal injury or death
• claims involving an industrial tribunal arising from a contract of employment.

The policy also provides cover for tax protection, jury service, legal defence and for pursuing disputes over schools admissions.

The policy also includes protection to defend claims and assist the customer if they are subject to an identity theft. 

This additional cover has a fixed cost of £0.70 per month (including IPT).

This policy is only available as an extension to the buildings and contents policy for homeowners.
