You can extend your building and/or contents insurance to cover costs if you become aware of identity fraud including:
the cost of defending claims made by financial institutions;
the costs incurred in cancelling criminal and civil judgements;
communication costs; and
any fees incurred if you have to re-apply for a loan which was turned down because of the identity fraud.
The policy also pays a daily amount for each day that you are unable to work because you are seeing the police, financial institutions and credit reference agencies to sort our your credit rating (subject to a maximum of 20 days).
